While at Rio Mobility, a San Francisco-based startup, I worked on unique mobility products that extend the abilities of standard wheelchairs and make propulsion more ergonomic and efficient.
I worked on several products in all phases of production.
Development highlights:
- Supervised production at the manufacturer in Taichung, Taiwan (using Mandarin)
- Brought two concept products to the manufacturing phase
- Created two more products, from concept to prototype
- Managed two technicians on assembly and rework
- Used a wheelchair for two weeks to get a glimpse of user needs
- Conducted user surveys and feedback sessions to improve the product
- Redesigned the website, created user manuals, managed a national ad campaign
