While at New Deal Design, I helped create OKU, a new "personal skin coach."

I took the external form factor created by ID and the functional requirements for the product to create the architecture and design for manufacturing needed to make this a reality.

Development highlights:

• Internal component design for strength, function, and stability
• Assembly process and procedure to allow for functional testing and analysis before ultrasonic welding
• Kinematic mounting of internal optical elements for repeatable use under drop conditions
• Optical analysis of light rays to ensure sufficient illumination and proper focus
• Design for ingress protection to IP64 standards
• Design to satisfy UL requirements
• Battery sizing and sourcing
